In addition to our regular Ceilidhs on Sunday afternoons, we have several other events
coming up that we wanted to let you know about. We hope to see you here!

***** Edit: January 29: We regret that the Na Gaisgich ga event on January 31 has been postponed due to illness. It has been rescheduled to: February 21st. *****

Bun is Brr: Na Gaisgich ga is a youth mentorship program designed for ten children from Nova Scotia to participate in a community-based Gaelic education project, that runs for 10 months in various communities of Northeastern Nova Scotia. Children are immersed in Gaelic language and culture for three days a month, and are mentored by Gaelic speakers in their community in between the sessions. The project is supported by the Office of Gaelic Affairs and Colaisde na Gidhlig and is made possible by the contribution of a team of volunteers who mentor the children in between the monthly sessions, cook meals, chaperone and fundraise for the project.

Gidlhig aig Baile is an immersion method of Gaelic language instruction used in communities throughout Nova Scotia. The classes provide students with a strong foundation in the language in a fun, social and interactive environment. The methodology is that people should first learn to speak the language, while reading and grammar can be taught later, in the same manner in which people learn their first language. For further information, contact: cheryl@celticmusiccentre.com.

Gidhlig aig Baile Immersion classes are made possible with the
support from Oifis Iomairtean na Gidhlig / Office of Gaelic Affairs.
