You can help us promote and preserve Cape Breton Island’s Celtic Music and Heritage!

The CMIC takes great pride in preserving the rich history of Celtic music in Cape Breton. Our mission is to collect captivating stories, fascinating photographs, and recordings of live performances, studio sessions, and interviews with musicians and other key figures in the Cape Breton Celtic music community. Our ultimate goal is to present the most comprehensive and captivating historical record of this lively cultural tradition, highlighting its evolution and achievements for future generations to enjoy and appreciate.

Do you have an experience or story to share about the CMIC?

As we celebrate our 25th anniversary, we invite everyone to contribute to creating a comprehensive timeline that will document CMIC’s history. We will share our remarkable story with our customers, partners, and the wider community, both locally and online, throughout 2024.

Did you know that seemingly ordinary items can hold significant historical value?

We gladly accept donations of letters, journals, venue lists, recordings, photos, clothing, and instruments. Although these items may appear to be ordinary, they can play a crucial role in conserving and documenting the fascinating history of music. By donating these items, you can help to enrich the understanding and appreciation of music’s past, present, and future.
